Required Documentation

While this is arguably one of the most important days in your life together, there are, unfortunately a few formalities which must be brought to the attention of all those planning on getting married in Bermuda.

To Get a Marriage License
It takes 15 days for a license to be issued. Once you have retained To Have and To Hold Weddings, you will be asked to mail us your Notice of Intended Marriage. About six weeks before your wedding, we will submit it to the Registrar General’s office. It is valid for three months from the date of issue.

Marriage License and Certificate cost
Your marriage license and one marriage certificate costs $267.00. (License $243, marriage certificates are $24 each) This is paid by To Have and To Hold Weddings. This cost will appear on your final bill.

Extra Marriage Certificate
Later on, if you need an additional certificate, they cost $46 each. This fee is regulated by the Bermuda Government and is subject to change.

Witnesses
Two witnesses who are at least 18 years old must sign your marriage license. If it is just the two of you, To Have and To Hold Weddings can provide two witnesses at no extra charge.
